We also offer the ever popular five minute Redken Camo Color, to naturally blend in gray hair. For the ladies we include a light blow dry and basic style, with extensive styling available at additional cost. If you're considering a color change, our colorists will gladly help you find the right shade to compliment your skin tone and personal style. We also offer brow and lip waxing services. We are a no appointment shop, so stop in at your convenience. Appointments are available for color services.

How long have you been in business?
Fred Saiz and his wife Kate opened Silver & Gold Barbers and Stylists in 1959. Fred cut at Silver & Gold well into his nineties and passed away in September of 2015 at the age of 96. Throughout the years we have remained true to our barbershop origins, but now offer services for the entire family. In our second generation of family ownership, today we are owned and managed by Fred & Kate's daughter, Laurie Saiz Parks. Laurie began working at Silver & Gold in the early 1980's and today splits her time between the cutting floor and spending time with Kate, now in her nineties.
What is your primary product or service?
Silver & Gold Barbers and Stylists is a modern barbershop that offers services for the entire family. We offer haircuts, styling, color, and brow and lip waxing services. Our staff excels in clipper cutting, precision scissor cutting, texturizing and layering techniques. All our men's cuts include a complimentary hot steam towel and a straight razor shave on the neckline. For the ladies we include a light blow dry and a simple style. Extensive styling is available at additional cost. We are a no appointment shop, so please stop in at your convenience. Appointments are accepted for color services.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I'm Laurie Parks, owner of Silver & Gold. My parents opened the shop before I was born, so I literally grew up in the business. I have fond memories of getting the Tootsie Pops from the basket, usually sneaking more than one. We still use the original barber chairs we had when the shop opened and I laugh at all the times I was told "Don't play with the chairs! " To a kid, they were like an amusement park ride. I began cutting at Silver & Gold in the early eighties, straight out of barber school. Thankfully I had my father and many experienced barbers and stylists to show me the ropes as I honed my skills. Silver & Gold is more than a business to me, it is a huge part of my life and our family history. I am honored and proud to carry on the tradition of employing only the best, experienced barber/stylists as well as our excellent customer service, quality hair care and our long standing ties to the Boulder community.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We offer an alternative to the quick corporate cut, or a high priced salon. Our barbers and stylists have years of experience. Local pride of ownership shines through.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We currently have two locations, our original family shop, Silver & Gold Barbers and Stylist and our traditional barbershop S & G Classic Barbershop.

Silver & Gold is now in it's second generation of family ownership. Owned and managed by Laurie Saiz Parks, daughter of the founders, Fred & Kate Saiz.

Silver & Gold Barbers and Stylists is open Monday-Friday 8am-7pm, Saturday 8am-5pm and Sunday 12pm-6pm.
