How long have you been in business?
Crescent Moon has been making snowshoes here in Boulder for over 21 years.
What is your primary product or service?
Crescent Moon has been recognized among the best snowshoe makers in the world with a reputation for innovation and craftsmanship that has earned the company multiple awards and citations.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Tamara Laug and Jake Thamm first saw an opportunity in the snowshoe category because we believed we could make better snowshoes with innovation and design and particularly, by focusing on making a better binding system. Tamara Laug has been a product designer for many years and with a number of patents to her name, created a binding that has since been recognized as a unique solution to that part of the snowshoe. Since then, we have recently introduced a snowshoe made entirely out of foam, called Eva, and was recognized as the GEAR OF THE YEAR for 2018.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Innovation, design, craftsmanship, and a genuine commitment to customer service.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
we are located at 5401 Western Ave, Ste. C in Boulder. and this location serves both as a production facility (where we actually make our snowshoes) and a retail outlet where people can purchase snowshoe directly from us.
Provide detailed directions to your location
approximately 1/2 mile east of the intersection of Arapahoe and the Diagonal Highway, and 1 1/2 blocks north on Conestoga to the intersection of Western Ave and Conestoga. It is a light industrial complex on the north east side of the Ball Brothers Aerospace campus (Arapahoe and Conestoga).
